Washington, June 5 (ANI): A representative of the British rock band Coldplay has defended accusations that the band's latest single 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' was a copy of a 1990s dance track 'Ritmo De La Noche', insisting the similarities are intentional.
However, he has now confirmed that Coldplay had collaborated with songwriters Peter Allen and Adrienne Anderson, whose original tune I Go To Rio was used in Ritmo De La Noche.
The representative further clarified that the band's frontman Chris Martin had written the song in question after hearing Allen and Anderson's work in the film 'Biutiful'
"Chris was inspired to write the song after watching the film Biutiful by Alejandro Gonzalez. In the film, there is a nightclub scene - during which a track is playing in the background, based on I Go To Rio by Peter Allen and Adrienne Anderson. As a result, Allen and Anderson are also credited as writers on Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall," Contactmusic quoted him as telling Scotland's Daily Record. (ANI)
