New Delhi, June 4(ANI): The indefinite fast commenced by yoga guru Baba Ramdev in New Delhi on Saturday has evoked overwhelming response and support from his admirers from all over the country.
One of his close aides, Acharya Balakrishna said that Baba Ramdev's fast is against corruption, which would cleanse the entire country.
"The voice which is echoing here is not the voice of Baba Ramdev, but it is the voice of the entire country. The country is wishing for the same thing that Ramdev is wishing for. So, those aspects of this stir are for the whole nation and for you," Acharya Balakrishna said.
Meanwhile, Bollywood star Manoj Tiwari said Baba Ramdev's move has enlightened him and prompted him to do something for the country.
"We used to do a lot of mistakes, towards which we never paid heed to. But people like you (Baba Ramdev) have awakened us and made us realize that there is nothing more important than country. Now, I am feeling that if we dedicate some time for the country, it would be a great contribution on our part," the actor said.
Earlier in the day, Baba Ramdev started his indefinite fast as a mark of protest against graft and nepotism in public life.
He assured that the fast would continue till the Central government agrees to his demands vis-?-vis stringent punishment to the corrupt persons and retrieval of unaccounted money stashed away by vested interests in tax havens abroad. (ANI)
