The official honorary organisation Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Science that honours Hollywood and artists from film industries across the globe with prestigious Oscar Awards annually, has officially announced the final list of selected contenders for the 80th Academy Awards on Tuesday.

These awards have been undoubtedly rated as the top honours for any individual who belongs to the entertainment world. The awards are usually presented in the month of February every year.

Among the ‘Best Actress’ nominees there is Ellen Page, the star of Juno and Cate Blanchett for the movie ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’.

Directed by Shekhar Kapur the movie “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” has got two nominations as best actress and best costume. The first part of this movie “Elizabeth” has own an Oscar in 1998 for best makeup done by Jenny Shircore.

Other actresses in the frame include Julie Christie in the film “Away from Her,” Marion Cotillard as a singer in "La Vie en Rose", Laura Linney in the movie “The Savages”.
