Xiaomi Brings Mi 5 'Extreme' With High-End Specifications!

Did you love the Xiaomi Mi 5? Well, if you did, then this piece of news is sure to excite you to the core. As per the latest buzz, Xiaomi has launched the new version of its Mi 5 device - titled as the Extreme. This new model has been launched in China, which is available for a sum of CNY 1,999 (around Rs. 20,000).

You can buy the all new Mi 5 "Extreme" through third-party online retailer in China, which happens to be Xiaomi's home country. The new version of Mi 5 is said to have overclocked processor, GPU, and RAM. Other specifications of it are same as that of Xiaomi Mi 5.

At the time of writing, the new "Extreme" version of the Xiaomi Mi 5 was not listed on Xiaomi's website, so it's not clear if this is an 'official' variant or some kind of crazy third-party mod, not usually seen in the smartphone world.

Xiaomi Mi 5 Extreme: Here's What You Need To Know

Xiaomi Mi 5 'Extreme' model is available with a Snapdragon 820 processor and is packed with 3GB of RAM beside an Adreno 530 GPU. In comparison to the standard Mi 5, the Mi 5 Extreme version comes clocked at 2.15GHz weighed against 1.8GHz; its GPU comes clocked at 624MHz in contrast to the 510MHz, and as for the RAM, it is overclocked at 1866MHz from 1333MHz.

As for the standard Mi 5, it's been nearly five months that the smartphone got released. In fact, now the price has been slashed and it's currently available for a sum of CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs. 18,100). Mi 5 saw a price cut in the Indian market also by Rs. 2,000 and is now available for Rs. 22,999.

For those unaware, let us have a quick recap of the Xiaomi Mi 5 specifications, most of which you will find same in the Extreme version also. The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with dual-SIM (Nano + Nano) and houses a 5.15-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) backed by curved 3D Ceramic glass. It has pixel density of 428ppi. At the camera front, the device has 16 MP Sony IMX298 camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and LED flash.

Other than this, its primary camera also has 4-axis OIS (optical image stabilisation) plus sapphire glass protection lens. The device also supports 4K video recording. For selfies, it has 4 MP camera with 2-micron pixels. The front and back cameras have f/2.0 aperture.

Mi 5 device measures 144.5x69.2x7.25mm and weighs 129 grams. It is packed by 3000mAh battery and supports the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The device also has USB Type-C port and connectivity options such as VoLTE support, 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/ac, lonass, and NFC.
