The model is priced at a nominal amount of INR 12,999. The YU team in Bengaluru must be applauded for their creation of OS, which they love to call 'Android on Steroids'. This is very neatly incorporated in the phone.

It is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Digging further into details, the model bears a metal design, a blend of magnesium and aluminium on the back, which is estimated to be a treat for the users! In the chemical world, the element magnesium is famed for its lustre and the magnesium aluminium alloy is commended for its lightness combined with strength. Hence, this metallic back might give the phone the external durability one expects.

The edges are rounded with should make it easy to be held. The phone, on the whole, weighs 170 gms. On the right, one can find power and volume rocker buttons and the bottom holds Micro USB charging port and the top is home to the audio socket. The Company apparently enjoys naming their model's features and thus call the the 4 GB RAM, mammoth.

The processor in the phone is the commonly used octa core MediaTek Helio P10 which can be found in most phones in this range of amount. The RAM and the processor together will be able to manage basic tasks quite efficiently. The storage however is 32 GB! The battery is 4000mAh which is believed to survive two complete days of heavy use.

Therefore, for people looking for a phone with a great battery back up, this one undoubtedly becomes a fair option! The phone also has a new feature which is an option to seek opinion of doctors and possesses the new YU wallet which is powered by Udio.

The most used feature of a smartphone- the camera, the phone has a 5 MP in front and 13 MP as rear. The fact to test would be whether this camera is also slow like the previous YU models. Talking about the design, this phone is by far the best designed model of the YU company and also is diverse in the comparison to the designs of YU's previous models. On the back of the model, there is a dual LED flash. The display of the phone is bright and quite perfect looking at colour reproduction and this success can be attributed to Miravision 2.0 support. The visibility, even under direct sunlight, can be expected to be good. The phone is also the company's first phone to have an embedded fingerprint sensor.

The YU Yunicorn is known to be the 'flagship redefined phone' and the reviews so far have been well to do. The company's founder Mr. Rahul Sharma was quoted signifying the importance of not comparing this phone with other smartphones available at similar prices, for, this phone, he strongly believes and stresses has a lot of new features incorporated in it which the previous models lack.

Having said all, this phone definitely makes up for a strong competitor amongst the most popular phones in the sub 15000 category and we believe giving it a shot won't be in vain! Here's wishing YU all the success!
