Stand Up India scheme launched on birth anniversary of Jagjivan Ram, Yesterday, to promote entrepreneurship among Scheduled Castes, Schedule Tribes and women.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 'Stand Up India' and said today on the birth anniversary of Bapu Jagjivan Ram a man who gave his entire life for the welfare of society, though he was born in a Dalit family but never thought it was obstacle in his path and worked hard. Government of India decided to launch ‘Stand up India’ on his birth anniversary. As agriculture minister Babu Jagjivan Ram did a lot to usher the green revolution. In 1971 he was the defense minister when India won war against Pakistan we have forgot his immense efforts. It doesn’t matter to which party or ideology a person belongs to we respect him the same way he deserves.
PM Modi further said he can’t recall any moment where any program was launch under his name and stated we are fortunate that we got this opportunity to launch Stand Up India scheme where our poor brother and sisters from SC and SC will be getting benefitted they no longer have to depend on the government for jobs. Even government will not be able to provide jobs to everyone this scheme will help to encourage those people who have been neglected by the society.
On 15th august PM Modi said in his speech from the red fort that every bank will provide loan to people who belongs SC, ST and also to women for the development of their business. The scheme is intended to promote entrepreneurship among Scheduled Castes, Schedule Tribes and women and will involve loans ranging from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 1 crore.PM Modi also said job seeker of today can become job creator of tomorrow.
Today the main event was stand up India only but later on another programme was added to the event where 5100 E-rickshaws were distributed and Modi had tea with the families of rickshaw drivers. Apart from this a mobile application was also launch. Those who will download Ola application can now call E-rickshaws to their place by just one click. PM Modi himself came in E-rickshaw using the same application and announced that we have planned to establish Energy banks where batteries will be charged from solar energy where E-rickshaw owners can leave their battery for charging and take another one and pay for the charging only.
On this occasion he also thanked Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for his efforts to improve banking sector and making it easier for people to connect with bank. He said 40 percent people were not connected with banks even after 70 years of independence. We took the initiative and I am thankful to bank employees who worked beyond time in fulfilling the vision of government now even the poorest are connected with bank.
