People carry bundles of Rs 1000 notes to SBI ATM kiosks

Kolkata, Nov 8 (IANS) Commoners outside a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM here were seen carrying Rs 1,000 notes in bundles to deposit them at the kiosks.

The reaction was a fallout after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes will be demonitised after midnight on Tuesday.

"I am an office-goer. I don't have time to deposit it on Friday (when the banks will open). I have to offload my 1,000 rupee notes by midnight," said a middle-aged person in Deshapriya Park, south Kolkata.

"Those who don't have SBI accounts which have the facility to deposit cash are in deep water. What about those people? The time frame is ridiculous," said another user.
