New Delhi, Sun, 25 Oct 2015 NI Wire

Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation Subhash Arya, North DMC Mayor Sh. Ravinder Gupta and Mayor of East DMC Sh. Harshdeep Malhotra today met Dy. Chief Minister Manish Sisodia of Delhi Govt. on the issue of release of funds to Safai Karmcharis and sanitation drive on 21st and 22ND November in Delhi and other issues.

Arya said Delhi Govt. is playing politics and misleading the people by releasing false information regarding the release of funds. He said the data given by officials in the meeting is not accurate and we demand that all the pending funds be released for Safai Karmcharis and developmental work in three DMCs.

Arya said in 2014 till October total release fund was Rs.233.77 out of Rs.364.75 whereas in 2015-16 it is only 205.43 instead of 381 on the same in East DMC Rs.139.90 in 2014-15 and in 2015-16 it is only Rs. 91.38. In North Rs. 223.75 in 2014-15, it is Rs. 213.92 in 2015-16. He added during 2014-15 Delhi was under President Rule and there is delay in release of funds but all the funds under Plan Head for developmental scheme was release but in 2015-16 Delhi Govt. is playing politics in release of funds.

Arya said we are meeting the Govt on 3rd November on the same issue alongwith officials and he also urged the Govt. not to raise the issue of Property Tax from DDA only as many of the Delhi Govt. Departments as Delhi TRANSCO pendency 17 Crores, BSES Rajdhani due 36 Crores and APMC are departments that are not paying property tax to DMCs causing the financial crunch in our system.

Arya said we are ready to cooperate on developmental issues and in sanitation drive on 21st and 22nd November he asked the minister not make an event and instead work for cleanliness of the city. We will work for clean city at their cost in that drive.
