The budget for SC/STs must be appropriated as per their population: Dr. Udit Raj

Udit Raj, Member of Parliament from BJP today said that this is for the first time in the history of Lok Sabha that a discussion on the budget was centered around the ministry of Social justice & Empowerment. He congratulated and thanked Minister for parliamentary affairs, Shri Venkahiah Naidu & Minister for Social justice & empowerment, Thawar Chand Gehlot for the same. Congress has ruled the country for around 55 years now but never ever did so.

Dr. Raj today said in the parliament “The budget for the development of SC/STs must be appropriated as per their population, Congress couldnot ever do so, Budget 14-15 has seen a rise in the funds for SC/ST and Adivasis and for that I thank and congratulate Sh. Arun Jaitley”.

He further added ,”the funds allocated by the Central government for the development of Dalits & Adivasis will through various schemes and programmes lead to their development, It must be seen that the state Governments do not misuse the funds. It has been seen in the past that this money has been misused , a case in point is the diversion of Rs.700 crores towards the Asiads.

The fallacious argument given in its justification is that SC/STs shall too be beneficiaries of the programmes funded by the diverted funds. He further said that right now Central govt diverts funds to the state government for its utilization but that should be avoided. For instance, there is a huge probability that the state government in UP will misuse the funds earmarked for the development of SC/STs as it has openly executed Anti-Dalit activities.

Dr. Raj, today in the parliament, slammed the Congress and asserted that at least the Congress party should not preach on this matter. It is entirely because of Congress that apart from reserved constituencies, SC/ST community cannot even think of entering the Parliament. If Congress would have actually cared for the empowerment of the SC/ST community, they would have executed programmes for their real empowerment and then the community would not have had to solely rely on reservations.
