Protesting against the steep hike in the passenger and freight fares by the railways, and the unabated power and water crisis, and also the increase in the power bill tariff, the Congress Party continued its agitation and held massive demonstrations. The agitated Congress workers burned the effigies of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Railway Minister Sadanand Gowda and Arvind Kejriwal.

The demonstrators were addressed by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Arvinder Singh, MLA, ex-MP Shri Sajjan Kumar, chief spokesperson Shri Mukesh Sharma, former Union Minister Krishna Tirath, former Delhi Minister Ramakanth Goswami, ex-MLA Balram Tanwar, Municipal Councillor Prem Lata, Youth Congress president Shri Amit Malik, Addressing the demonstrators, Shri Arvinder Singh and Shri Sajjan Kumar said Shri Narendra Modi, after forming Government at the Centre, has begun issuing his autocratic orders. They said Shri Narendra Modi's harsh decisions and the bitter medicines will prove to be fatal for the people of the country and Delhi. They said the rail fare hikes for passenger journey and freight transportation will have a direct impact on the poor people of Delhi.

They said the hike in freight tariff will push up the prices of coal, and as a result, the power tariff will also hit the roof. They said from vegetables to other edible items, everything come to Delhi from other States, and it was natural that the prices of all eatable items would go up considerably as a result of the rail fare hike. Both the leaders said power and water crises were being deliberately created in the unauthorized colonies of Delhi at the behest of the BJP and Arvind Kejriwal, as on the one hand people wait on the roads for power and water while on the other hand, suggestion was being mooted to hike the power tariff.

Shri Mukesh Sharma, Smt. Krishna Tirath and Shri Ramakanth Goswami said the severe shortage of power and water was forcing people to flee Delhi. All the three leaders said the tourism industry has been severely affected by the power and water crisis, thereby considerably affecting income from the tourism industry. They said the BJP, which had enacted a drama in the name to protect the honour of women, was now keeping a deafening silence on rapes and other assaults being heaped upon women in Delhi. They said the silence of Arvind Kejriwal proves that he has betrayed the people of Delhi.
