Modi hits out at Rahul over Vadra land deal

Haryana,Elections 2014,Politics, Thu, 03 Apr 2014 IANS

Gurgaon, April 3 (IANS) BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Thursday took on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi over his brother-in-law Robert Vadra's alleged land deal in Gurgaon.

Addressing a rally here in support of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Rao Inderjeet Singh, Modi lashed out at Gandhi for his anti-corruption comments.

"People who talk about fighting corruption should first look into their own house. Who allowed Robert Vadra to make Rs.50 crore in just three months through a land deal in Gurgaon? Who were the jugglers of the deal?" Modi asked.

"Shehzada (Rahul Gandhi) wants to make 125 crore 'chowkidars' (sentinels) for the country. Will Vadra and people involved in the coal, Adarsh and other scams also be 'chowkidars'?" the Gujarat chief minister asked.

He said corruption can only be tackled if the people governing from Delhi are willing to fight, but the Congress has been governing Delhi and Haryana for a decade but has done nothing for the people.

He urged people to throw out the Congress from Haryana and the country.

"Be sure, the Congress must not win a single seat out of 10 in Haryana," he said.
