Kashmir holds international seminar on value education

Srinagar, Mar. 28 (ANI): Kashmir organised a one- day seminar on information, communication and technology, highlighting the need for value education to ensure a better future.

The seminar was organised by Government College of Education in Kashmir in collaboration with European partners of SIT-research project.

The Director of the Institute of Education, Macerta University of Italy, Professor Flavia, said that the seminar was very successful with people interacting and discussing the role of value of education in society.

"Today I think it was a very fruitful discussion and we could interact a long discussion about how important is the role of values for our education in our society." said Flavia.

The main purpose of the seminar was to build the culture of trust between people and communities with the help of proper communication and to highlight the values of education to build a better future.

Principal, Government College of Education in Kashmir, Professor Praveen Pandit, said that though technological progress is moving at a fast pace, the basics of culture and value of education is eroding.

"We want to see that the most important is the culture and also the values which are eroding from the society; we see that on one side the progress is very high and we are going ahead in technology using our cell phones, internet, teleconferencing, video recording and so on actually in our educational institutions," said Pandit.

During the seminar, a number of issues were discussed regarding the value of education by experts.

Many foreign delegates from various countries like Norway, Italy and Philippines participated in the seminar along with eminent Kashmir scholars. (ANI)
