The first meeting of South Delhi Muncipal Corporation has been scheduled for April 16, 2013 to elect its Mayor and Deputy Mayor besides three members of the Standing Committee. According to provisions under Sub-Section (1) of Section 35 of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957, the Corporation shall at its first meeting in each year elect one of its members to be the Mayor and another member to be the Deputy Mayor of the Corporation.
The last date for filing the nominations for the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor and three members of the Standing Committee in the office of Municipal Secretary is 10th April, 2013 upto 5:00 p.m. Any candidate can withdraw his/her candidature at any time before the election is proceeded within the meeting.
Vacancy in the Standing Committee has been created after retirement of following members Mr. Rajesh Gehlot, Mr. Anil Kumar Sharma and Ms. Simmi Jain
