p> Dr. Shobha Vijender condemns the statement made by the Police Commissioner in today’s Press Conference. He said that he would not resign which reflects his arrogance. It is totally unjustified when he said that 97 % of rapes happen in homes.
It is untrue as sometimes rape definitely committed by known persons but it does not mean that rape is committed in homes. We don’t know what type of picture he wants to paint of Indian Homes. He compared himself with the editors for not resigning is again very unrealistic as in this particular 5 years old girl case due to the negligence of police, the Girl had to be confined 40 hours in a dingy room. Who is responsible for such a brutal confinement if not police and who will take the responsibility if not the police commissioner. Dr. Shobha Vijender says that Police Commissioner should behave like a public servant not as a boss. He must be sacked by the Home Ministry with immediate effect.
