Irrigation and Flood Control Minister, Delhi Government, Dr A K Walia has said that since coming to power in 1998, the present Delhi Government has changed the face of Delhi, especially East Delhi. He was addressing a inauguration function in Ease Delhi. Area M.P. Sandeep Dikshit was also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Dr. Walia said that starting 15 years back with poor medical facilities, today Delhi presents a vibrant look with a network of reputed government hospitals, having ultra-modern facilities. Rajiv Gandhi Super-specialty Hospital to be dedicated shortly to citizens will bring world-class medical facilities in almost all specialties at the doorstep of the residents of East Delhi.
He further added that the development works in East Delhi will privide relief to thousands of commuters passing everyday through the busy East Delhi area and they will get rid of perpetual traffic jam.
Sandeep Dikshit, MP, East Delhi said that though the population of Delhi has grown by about 80 lakhs during the last 15 years, the civic services have increased many-folds. Uninterrupted 24 hour supply of electricity and water are great achievements of the Government.
He further added that government has made great achievements in the fields of higher education, health and overall infrastructure. Delhi Government has set-up four universities. Today Delhi has become hub of higher education of the country.
