Andhra CM in Delhi for discussing over Telangana issue

New Delhi, Mon, 04 Feb 2013 NI Wire

Continuously facing flak over making Telangana region a separate statehood, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and state Congress chief Botsa Satyanarayana Monday reached Delhi for discussing with Congress party’s top brass over the issue.

The party leadership had summoned them for consultations before taking a decision on the vexatious issue.

They reached to the national capital by an early morning flight.

They are likely to meet Congress general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is also in charge of party affairs in the state, and other central leaders.

Besides Telangana, the latest political developments in the state and issues related to the party and the government may also come up for discussion.

After an all-party meeting on Telangana Dec 28, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had declared that a decision on Telangana would be announced within a month.

However, a day before the month's deadline ended, both Shinde and Azad said some more time was required for consultations.

Azad had said the party would have consultations with the Chief Minister, state party chief and leaders of all three regions - Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema.

Protesting the delay in taking the decision, seven Congress MPs from Telangana last week sent their resignations both from the Parliament and the party to party president Sonia Gandhi.
