City government to regularize all colonies without any demolition: Lovely

Delhi Urban Development and Revenue Minister Arvinder Singh has said that colonies partly on ASI, Forest land have not yet witnessed the fruits of developmental works due to certain objections about their status. He also reiterated the commitment of the City Government to regularize all colonies in to without carrying out any demolition are uprooting the families.

Singh stated that the government has decided to regularize these 91 colonies at the earliest as all spade works have been satisfactorily completed. He added that henceforth providing basic services like construction of roads, drains, water supply, street lighting and sewerage facilities in these colonies would be taken up on war footing in order to bring these colonies at par with other developed/developing colonies.

He stated that the no objection from the Forest and ASI has been obtained after a detailed survey in all revenue villages concerned. The Government has taken all aspects in consideration before allowing developmental works in these colonies as it is sensitive to the needs of the residents. Keeping in view the needs of developmental works the Government has also allowed developmental works in colonies adjoining ASI monuments just leaving out only restricted prohibited area.

The present City Government has taken a bold decision to regularize 895 unauthorized colonies in one go. Singh reiterated that the City Government would not leave any stone unturned to bring fruits of development to persons living in these unauthorized colonies and will not allow any efforts by vested interest to politicize the issue and stall these works.
