Delhi Police rescued five women from G.B. Road, two arrested

Delhi Police have rescued five females from GB Road, with the help of NGO 'Rescue Foundation'. All the females belongs to West Bengal and Karnataka. They were lured to Delhi on the pretext of providing them good employment and subsequently forced into flesh trade.

According to Devesh Chandra Srivastava, DCP, Central District, PS Kamla Market received some specific inputs that few girls who are being forced in prostitution want to be rescued from the kothas at GB Road and that they are confined at Kotha Nos. 55, Ist Floor left Side, GB Road.

The information was further developed and it was revealed that there are few girls in Kotha No-55, Ist Floor left side, GB Road who have been forced into prostitution and if the raid is conducted, girls could be rescued.

On this, a team comprising of Inspr. Pramod Joshi, SHO/Kamla Market, SI Jagdish Prasad, SI Ajay and W/Ct. Mamta was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Ram Kumar, ACP/Kamla Market. The representatives of NGO 'Rescue Foundation' were also associated with the team.

At about 8.25 PM, a raid was conducted at kotha No.55, Ist Floor left side, GB Road and five girls were rescued. A case was registered at P.S. Kamla Market, Delhi. Further, during the investigation, the Kotha owner namely Kamal and Kotha manager namely Lalita were arrested in the case.

During investigation, it was revealed that all the rescued females are resident of West Bengal and Karnatka belong to poor families. They told police that they want to go back to their places and live a normal and decent life. All rescued girls are majors.
