Kolkata, Sep 28 (IANS) Even though India's nightingale Lata Mangeshkar was in no mood to celebrate her 84th birthday Saturday, Kolkata resonated with sounds of her music -courtesy an exhibition by musicologist Snehasis Chatterjee.

The display at the three-day exhibition that concludes Monday comprises rare artefacts related to the music icon collected by the Limca Book of Records holder over three decades.

Booklets, photographs, and tokens of Mangeshkar's mellifluous voice either in form of cassettes, audio CDs, video CDs and LP gramophone records have been painstakingly brought together from across the world by Chatterjee.

Enthusiasts can go through all the memorabilia at the spectacle hosted by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Prabha Khaitan Foundation.

"I have tried to give her fans all of her songs in any of the formats that I could collect," said Chatterjee, whose collection earned him the record title.

The photographs include Mangeshkar being felicitated by international diplomats, as well as posing with top politicians, including former US president Bill Clinton.
