Agra hosts Samajwadi Party national executive meet

Agra, Wed, 11 Sep 2013 ANI

Agra (Uttar Pradesh), Sept 11 (ANI): The Samajwadi Party is holding a two-day meeting of its national executive here today and tomorrow, and it is expected that the deliberations will focus on strategy to be adopted for the 2014 general elections.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav along with several ministers are attending the meet.

According to reports, the Samajwadi Party had earlier shifted the venue of the meeting from Haridwar to Agra, as the situation in Uttarakhand was "not conducive" for holding such an event.

The meeting of the national executive assumes significance, as on Tuesday, party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had claimed that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will not succeed in his prime ministerial ambitions and predicted that the Third Front will achieve a majority in the 2014 general elections.

Yadav also categorically made it clear that he was not a prime ministerial candidate.

"I am not a prime ministerial candidate. Narendra Modi will not succeed as a Third Front will get majority in coming Lok Sabha elections. There is every possibility of formation of a Third Front after election results are announced," he told media here. (ANI)
