London, June 6 (ANI): A UK man was sentenced to prison, after he tried to get a free meal in an Indian curry house by sprinkling his pubic hair on the remains of his lamb bhuna.
A CCTV caught Lee Tyers, 40, putting his hands down the front of his trousers while he was sitting in Jamal Indian restaurant in Middlesbrough town centre, Sky News reported.
Tyers - in an attempt to not pay the 39.5-pound-bill - told the staff that he had found the hair in his food.
Restaurant owner Jamal Chowdhury told the court that Tyers, of Mount Leven Road, Yarm, has been his restaurant's patron for around 18 years, but owed 110 pounds for previous meals.
Chowdhury said that he told Tyers when he entered the eatery on November 10 that he will serve him as long as he paid for that night's meal.
Tyers told him that he had money, before he and a friend ordered two lamb bhunas along with pilau rice, naan bread, drinks, a chapati and a shish kebab.
Later, the pair left the restaurant without paying after Tyers complained about the hair.
He has now been jailed for two weeks after magistrates found Chowdhury to be consistent and credible in giving his evidence. Tyers was also asked to pay 39.55-pound-compensation. (ANI)
