Dehradun , Sat, 01 Jun 2013 ANI

Dehradun, June 1 (ANI): Twin sisters from Dehradun conquered the Mount Everest and aim to defy all odds as they expressed their desire to climb the other five high peaks in the world.

Naungshi Malik and Tashi Malik became the first Indian twin sisters to conquer Mount Everest and they returned home safe and sound.

One of the two sisters, Tashi Malik said in Dehradun that they want to conquer the other high summits of the world as well.

"See as I said climbing is not easy. It is very expensive. So if we get funds from sponsors then we would want to climb the seven highest peaks in the seven continents. Till now we have climbed Mount Everest and Mount Kilimanjaro and we are left with five more peaks, which we want to climb. So the seven summits is our next goal," said Tashi.

Naungshi Malik said that it was a happy moment for them as both the sisters stepped together on Everest.

"First of all I am very happy because from past three years it was our dream to climb Mount Everest which has come true this year. I am very happy as we reached the top and I had my sister with me and with each other's support we both were able to climb Mount Everest. It was a very proud moment when we both put our feet together on reaching the top and also hugged each other. We said that we have done it finally, so it was a very great and proud feeling at that time," Naungshi Malik.

Proud of their daughters the parents hailed the success of their daughters as they flicked through the album of their daughters journey to Mount Everest.

The mother of the twins Anju Malik said that their biggest concern was the safety of the lives of their daughters.

"I am very happy and feeling very great and happy that my girls are back safe and sound. We were very concerned about their life because they went to a very difficult area. Now I am very happy that they have returned successfully," said Anju.

The family members lauded the accomplishment of the twin sisters and said that the duo had set an example because they belong to a very small village from Dehradun called Kotawli where to achieve something like this is considered next to impossible. (ANI)
