New Delhi, May 21 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi Tuesday paid homage to former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 22nd death anniversary.
The leaders offered flowers at his memorial Vir Bhumi here. Sonia Gandhi, the late leader's wife, was also joined by son and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, daughter Priyanka and son-in-law Robert Vadra.
External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, Defence Minister A.K. Antony, Parliamentary Affairs, Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit were among other leaders who paid tribute to the leader.
Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on May 21, 1991, at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu while campaigning for the general elections.
