Mumbai, May 6 (ANI): The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has reportedly alerted the police in Mumbai and Kolkata about possible terror strikes being launched on the American consulates in these two cities.
According to a CNN-IBN report, Mumbai Police was alerted by the Western Naval Command Headquarters about a possible terror attack on the US Consulate in Mumbai in July.
The report further reveals that U.S. Consulate officials are the target after an anonymous letter with Al-Jihad logo was sent to them.
The letter warns of an attack on not just the consulate in Mumbai, but also on the US Consulate in Kolkata.
The letter has been sent to the US Consulate and a response is awaited.
The police are in the process of checking the veracity of the letter, the channel reported. (ANI)
