Noida, April 27 (ANI): Angry labourers turned violent and set several vehicles on fire after a security guard at a builder's office opened fired and in the process injured two labourers in Noida on Saturday.
Police rushed to the scene to bring the situation under control and fire fighters were seen battling to douse the flames.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Noida, Pratinder Singh, there was an altercation between the labourers and the guards which turned violent . "We were informed that two labourers were shot and when we received the information the police reported to the spot along with fire brigade", he said.
The incident occurred in Sector 108 of Noida city.
Pankaj, a labourer, said: "At 8 am in the morning we began doing our entry and it became crowded so the guard pushed a labourer and told him to move to the side. The labourer asked him why he was pushing as he was only doing the entry. The guard told him not to act bossy after which they started abusing each other. The labourers also retaliated with abuses the guard slapped him and it turned into a violent altercation during which the guard opened fire."
The police have detained the guards at the building and the matter is being probed. (ANI)
