New Delhi, Apr. 25 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee will present the scope meritorious awards at the Vigyan Bhawan here on Friday on the occasion of the 4th Public Sector Day celebrations.
The awards will be presented in Specialized Fields to SAIL, ONGC, IOCL, ECIL, Neyveli Lignite Corpn, IREDA, NSTFDC, WAPCOS, CONCOR, EIL and ALIMCO. BHEL and GAIL (India) Limited, which were recently conferred the Maharatna Status by the Government of India, shall also be felicitated.
President Mukherjee will also address the Chief Executives of Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs).
Praful Patel, Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Dr. Nitish Sengupta, Chairman, BRPSE, O.P. Rawat, Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), C.S. Verma, Chairman, SCOPE and SAIL and Dr. U.D. Choubey, Director General, SCOPE will also address the award function which is being organized jointly by SCOPE, the apex body of PSEs and Department of Public Enterprises, Government of India.
SCOPE, DPE and the Public Sector fraternity recently observed the weeklong celebrations across the country with great vigor and enthusiasm showcasing the glorious history, spirit and remarkable contribution of PSEs in nation building.
The Public Sector Enterprises also organized conferences, debates, quiz programmes, essay competitions on the Public Sector's contribution to the nation as wealth creators for the country, to create greater awareness among its employees and general masses, in their corporate/ regional offices and projects/units.
