Gaya, Apr 16 (ANI): Bihar Police have arrested a Maoist and recovered cash and other items worth millions during an operation launched against the rebels in Gaya district.
Police on Monday apprehended Ayub Ali also known as Kamar Khan belonging to Communist Party of India (Maoist) from Gewal Bigha in Gaya district who used to supply logistics to Maoist organisations.
Superintendent of Police, Gaya, Chandan Kumar Kushwaha said that they were keeping an eye on Ayub Ali and after receiving confirmed information, they conducted a raid and arrested him.
"We had an eye on him for the past few days. We conducted a raid and arrested when we got this confirmed information that he had these logistics with him," said Kushwaha.
Police also recovered 15 lakh, eight mobile phones, gold chain, gold ring, two compasses and various other items.
"During the raid, we have recovered huge amount of logistics including cash worth 15 lakh which were collected by the Maoist organisations as levy, jewellery, CDs, binocular, compass, pen drive, USB drive," he added. (ANI)
