MJ's videos to be shown in court to show evidence of addiction problems

London , Sun, 14 Apr 2013 ANI

London, Apr 14 (ANI): As his family continues their 26 billion-pound court case against concert firm AEG, lawyers for the company will show film of Michael Jackson apparently drunk or under the influence of drugs in a bid to prove that he had long-standing addiction problems.

But the Jackson family, who are claiming AEG is responsible for the Thriller star's "wrongful death", will play their own home videos, the Sun reported.

They will show the pop legend playing with his kids and portraying him as a normal and happy family man.

The videos and films are listed in hundreds of exhibits both sides want to put before the sensational trial, which could last up to four months.

"This is no-holds-barred stuff and will be the biggest insight yet into Jackson's life. Effectively he is giving evidence from beyond the grave for both sides. It's an extraordinary turn of events," a source said.

The Jacksons claim that AEG, who were organising a series of 50 concerts by the star at London's O2 Arena, were negligent in hiring Conrad Murray, the doctor who was with Jackson, when he died of a drug overdose in 2009.

They say Murray, currently serving four years for manslaughter for his involvement in Jackson's death, already had 286,000 pounds of lost court cases against him.

Both sides want to call nearly 100 witnesses in the Los Angeles trial, including the star's former staff and bodyguards. (ANI)
