Bhubaneshwar, April 11 (ANI): Soaring mercury levels and the unbearable heat in Bhuwaneshwar with temperatures climbing to about 42 degree Celsius in several towns, has forced people to stay indoors and devise novel ways to beat the heat.
Weathermen have predicted that the current hot spell would continue and temperatures would continue to soar for the next three to four days.
Director of the Meteorological centre in Bhubaneswar S. C. Sahu said, "For the last four days the temperature has started rising in most parts , except few stations near the coast, like Puri, Gopalpur and Paradip. In Bhubaneswar and other places, temperatures have started rising and this rising tendency will continue for another three to four days."
People complain that they are facing problems due to cutting of trees. A villager Avishek Dash said, "We are facing a lot of problems here. The trees on the roadside were cut down in the name of urbanization . You cannot get out of the house after 10 in the morning. " ANI)
