Fire damages Greater Noida chemical factory

Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 3 (ANI): A raging fire has damaged a chemical factory in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida area.

At least 20 fire tenders were required late on Tuesday evening to douse the fire that spread quickly and damaged most parts of the unit.

Greater Noida's Chief Fire Officer Mahesh Sharma said the reason for the blaze is still being ascertained.

"We are investigating the cause of the fire," he said.

In most places across the country, fire safety regulations are lax, rarely implemented and not periodically reviewed, which results in the breaking of major fires, resulting in loss of life and material, and damage to property. (ANI)
