Defence Secretary-level talks between India and China to focus on CBMs

New Delhi, Mar. 22 (ANI): The Defence Secretary-level talks between India and China are expected to focus on enhancing confidence-building measures (CBMs).

The talk to be held today would be the second meeting between Chinese Chief of General Staff Lt Gen Qi Jianguo and Indian Defence Secretary Shashikant Sharma in the last three months. The duo earlier met at the Annual Defence Dialogue in January.

A senior People's Liberation Army officer-in-charge of foreign cooperation and intelligence is leading the Chinese delegation for the talks.

Defence Minister A.K. Antony is also planning to visit Beijing by middle of this year. The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, is also expected to visit China after the Defence Minister's visit. (ANI)
