Building collapse kills two, injures six in Junagarh

Junagarh (Gujarat), Feb. 10 (ANI): Two people were killed and six others were injured after a nine-storey building collapsed in Junagarh district of Gujarat on Sunday.

The incident took place early in the morning, when suddenly the nine-storey building, named Monarch-2 residence, collapsed that resulted in the fall down of the entire side of the building.

Talking to the mediapersons, Commissioner of Junagarh Municipal Corporation Dilip Rana informed about the entire incident and also assured proper medical aid to the injured.

"Around ten labourers were inside the building out of which two died on the spot and rest others have been immediately rushed to the hospital. The Junagarh Municipal Corporation has deployed its forces and the rescue operation is ongoing. We are trying to normalize the condition," said Rana.

Rana also emphasised that the role of the concerned builders would be investigated.

The injured have been taken to the local hospital and the rescue teams are still working at the site. (ANI)
