'If we are terrorists, ban BJP and RSS', Rajnath Singh dares government

New Delhi, Sun, 27 Jan 2013 ANI

New Delhi, Jan. 27 (ANI): Lashing out at Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde over his 'Hindu terror' remarks, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh on Sunday dared the government to ban his party and Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), if they are terrorist organisations.

Addressing a party leaders and workers at a function here, Rajnath Singh said if the government thinks that RSS and BJP are training terrorists, then they must arrest opposition leaders like L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, because they have also got political training from there only.

"If they consider the RSS and BJP as terrorist organisations, why don't they ban them like other terrorist organisations. If the RSS and BJP are churning out terrorists, then we are also terrorists, because we have also attended such training camps. Why don't the government put us behind the bars," asked Singh.

Shinde had made the controversial remark on the final day of the Congress Party's Chintan Shivir in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

It immediately invited condemnation from both the BJP and the RSS.

BJP is demanding Shinde's sacking from the Union Cabinet, and apologies from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi. (ANI)
