Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Jan.20 (ANI): Artists in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, have created sand sculptures that showcase burning issues affecting the common man.
The day long event was organised by Ram Chhatpar Shilp Nyas. Several sand artists participated in the event to project their feelings on important issues in the country, including atrocities on women, deregulation of diesel and other social issues.
"We have made this sculpture to show the impact of inflation. Inflation has risen to such an extent that the price of gas is increasing by the day. People are bearing the brunt of this inflation and so to express how we feel, we have made this sculpture," said Akriti, a college student.
Simultaneously, Varanasi Mayor Ram Gopal Mohale took stock of the level of sanitation and cleanliness in the city.
A two-day conference was also held on the current human resource management practices.
"Students from several colleges have come here and we are projecting our problems through the medium of sand art. The problems in Uttar Pradesh as well as outside the state are being projected in the form of sculptures. We have included pollution, population," said Pooja Sharma, a student
