Recording session of the Beatles to be recreated for 50th anniversary

London , Fri, 18 Jan 2013 ANI

London, Jan 18 (ANI): The Beatles' 12-hour historic recording session will be recreated in a live broadcast on national radio.

On the 50th anniversary of the famous band's session, the event, which has the Welsh band Stereophonics, chart-topper Gabrielle Aplin and Mick Hucknall as the performers- will be aired live on Radio 2 on the 50th anniversary of the session, the Sun reported.

It will also be screened on BBC4 as part of a celebration of their debut album Please Please Me.

The Beatles recorded most of their first album at Abbey Road's Studio 2 in the space of a few hours on February 11 1963, although not the entire album was created that day, as some tracks were recorded on different occasions.

'Please Please Me', which was recorded prior to the famous session, will also be substituted into the event for the purposes of the recreation.

The guest performers will perform the tracks in the same order as the Fab Four did fifty years ago, beginning with There's A Place and ending with their cover of the Isley Brothers' hit Twist And Shout.

A house band will play with the majority of solo artists throughout the session, although Stereophonics will play in their own right for the event.

According to the Radio 2 controller Bob Shennan, the recreation of 'Please Please Me' promises to be one of Radio 2's stand-out moments of 2013. (ANI)
