Varanasi, Jan.7 (ANI): Tibetan spiritual leader The Dalai Lama will preside over a special congregation and prayer sessions for global peace here.
Tibetan Buddhist monks and devotees of various other faiths have also converged in Varanasi to attend these special events.
Buddhist monks and delegates from Thailand, Japan, Sri Lanka, Korea, China and Myanmar are also in the city to attend.
A monk going by the name of Khempo said: "The Dalai Lama will be addressing on world peace and on the lives of human beings. People from across the world have come here. Monks from the Himalayan region have also come to attend the Dalai Lama's congregation and listen to his teachings."
The Dalai Lama would also be addressing the monks on the life and teaching of Buddha.
The Dalai Lama arrived in Varanasi from Patna, where he had gone to open and address a three-day international Buddhist convention.
He had then said the world is facing a moral crisis and emphasised on inculcating self-discipline on the basis of moral ethics to combat it. (ANI)
