New Delhi, Jan. 5 (ANI): UPA Chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, along with Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma met Mauritius President Rajkeswur Purryag here on Saturday.
Purryag is on a week-long official visit to strengthen bilateral cooperation and people-to-people contact between both the nations.
The visiting President would also be the chief guest at the flagship event of the Ministry of Overseas Affairs, the 'Parvasi Bharatiya Divas' (Day of Indian Diaspora) that brings together the members of Indian community settled abroad, to be held in Kochi.
President Purryag is also expected to visit his ancestral village in Bihar.
Earlier on Friday, President Pranab Mukhrjee hosted a formal banquet dinner in honour of his Mauritius counterpart. (ANI)
