Standing Committee Chairman of North Delhi Municipal Corporation, Yogendra Chandolia has demanded from the Lt. Governor of Delhi that the cost of land and penalty should not be charged from the 895 colonies being regularised as per the policy laid in the year 1976-77 while regularising colonies. The condition to charge development charges be done away.
He said that it is the responsibility of the Government to provide civic amenities to the citizens residing there, thus the Government should not charge any development charges from these colonies while regularisation.
Yogender Chandolia also demanded that those unauthorised colonies which were given provisional certificate be regularised since these still come under the category of unauthorised colonies if any formalities remains that can be fulfilled later.
Chairman, Standing Committee said that the allegations that the Corporation did not make any lay-out plans of the earlier regularised colonies are totally baseless. He said that the Corporation is passing the building plans in these colonies only because the Corporation has approved lay-out plans of these colonies.
Mr. Chandolia alleged that Delhi Government as well as Central Government is doing politics in the case of regularization of 583 unauthorised colonies in the name of not fixing the land rate and de-notification since last five years.
Mr. Chandolia said that till de-notification of these colonies and fixation of rates and penalty by the Government. If Delhi Government had been serious to regularizes of these colonies, it should have completed formalities before this.
Chairman also blamed that the Delhi Government wants put additional economic burden on the poor residents of these colonies by way of imposing penalties and land cost falling in these colonies.
