Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has expressed her hope that the pace of regularization of colonies in Delhi will get desired momentum resulting in substantial relief to the residents of unauthorized colonies.
Government sources says that the complex issue of regularization of unauthorized colonies in Delhi is set to become simple and smooth with issue of a Gazette Notification yesterday by Delhi Development Authority. As per the Gazette Notification regulations for regularization of unauthorized colonies in Delhi have been amended to authorize the City Government to finalize the boundaries of each identified colony having more than 50% built up area, by super imposing the satellite/aerial survey images as obtained in 2007 instead of 2002 as specified earlier, on the lay out Plan submitted by the RWA in March] 2008.
After fixing the boundaries on the basis of images in 2007 the City Government will forward the layout Plan to the concerned local body. Simultaneously, the City Government will issue orders regularizing the colony as per the boundaries fixed after completing other formalities.
Delhi Chief Minister, Smt. Sheila Dikshit and Delhi UD Minister, Dr. A.K. Walia today while appreciating the gesture of the Union UD Minister expressed confidence that the pace of regularization of colonies in Delhi will get desired momentum resulting in substantial relief to the residents of unauthorized colonies. Further, the residents will be able to enjoy civic amenities as being provided in regularized and planned colonies.
The layout Plan of eligible unauthorized colonies was being super imposed on the satellite imagery of 2002 with the help of the facilities created under the project Delhi State Spatial Data Infrastructure (DSSDI). The rough boundary points drawn based on built up structure as in 2002 is corrected by superimposing on it 2007 satellite imagery by including all built up structure leaving the vacant areas.
