Government is committed for quality health care facility: CM

Delhi Cabinet today gave its green signal for fully operationalization of its two Super Speciality Hospitals in West and East Delhi and setting up of a World Class Skill Development Centre in collaboration with the Government of Singapore. The decisions were taken in a Cabinet meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit.

While briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting Diskhit stated that her Government is committed to expand quality health care facility across Delhi. Delhi Government has established 38 major hospitals and 4 Super Speciality Hospitals, viz. IBHAS, DSCI, ILBS, MAIDS.

Dikshit stated that the Cabinet has since decided to fully operationalize the two Janakpuri Super Speciality Hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital under society mode. The decision will help in adding around 1000 beds in Delhi Government?s hospitals.

Dikshit said that the private Super Speciality Hospital offer very high cost treatment, which is not affordable to common man. Establishment of two new Speciality Hospitals will be a boon for weaker sections of Delhi/NCR residents. The Society will be authorized to manage the two Super Speciality Hospitals to ensure their maximum utilization and ensure all quality health services to the patients.

Dikshit further stated that the Cabinet has given its nod for setting up a world-class skill development centre at Jaunapur in collaboration with the Government of Singapore. This collaboration will help in sharing experiences of the Institute of Technical Education in Singapore which has been instrumental in setting up of such world class institutes in more than ten countries apart from conducing training workshops in many countries. The setting up of a world-class skill development institute in the Capital City will go a long way in overcoming mismatch between employment opportunities and skills set of job seekers.
