Government is committed to provide civic amenities to unauthorized colonies:CM

Delhi Chief minister Sheila Dikshit has directed the department and agencies to speed up their works and complete the same at the erliest in 1018 colonies which have received clearance from all concerned departments and agencies.

Dikshit has stated that that there should be no delay in executing developmental works. The residents of all unauthorized colonies must be provided civic amenities in a planned manner as per the latest specifications.

Dikshit instructed the concerned departments to streamline their work force to ensure that the amenities initially could be provided in 1018 colonies, which have been found eligible for developmental works and subsequent regularization. The Government is committed to bring unauthorized colonies under the ambit of planned development and regularization.

The issue of providing civic amenities to around 60 lakh people is crucial and City Government will take all possible measures to remove obstacles coming in the way.

Dikshit instructed the UD department the take up the cases of another 621 unauthorized colonies, which are yet to receive clearance as Department of Forest, ASI and DDA have raised some objections. Further many colonies are also awaiting clearance due to their status as affluent colony, multiple RWAs, less built up percentage etc.

Chief Minister underlined the importance of taking appropriate action to get the objections removed at the earliest. The Forest Department has objected in respect of 157, ASI in respect of 44 and DDA in respect of 40 colonies. There are 17 affluent colonies and 162 are having multiple RWAs. The DJB has initiated an exercise to provide water supply in 1005 colonies. The water lines have been laid in 783 colonies and water supply has already started in 700 colonies. In respect of 45 colonies work is under execution whereas in respect of 32 other colonies at tender stage and 145 colonies are at estimate stage. The sewage system is laid in 98 colonies.

does this make sense? then why she does not order mcd and others NOT to demolish flats. without reasons..f delhiits are accepting lip service ,they will be deprived of whatever amenities(?) they have.what hthis govt has done in the last 9 years?only given hollow assurances....
