According to the guidelines of National Council of Teacher Education NCTE qualifying in Central Teacher Eligibility Test CTET Test is a must for the candidates who aspires to be a teacher in classes I to VIII. NCTE has given this ruling under sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act.

As CTET November 2012 results has been announced the successful candidates have now become eligible to apply for government jobs in teaching class I to VIII.

The CTET exam on some centers in Mumbai was cancelled. The re-exam for these centers was organized on 2nd December 2012.
