Government gifted Deepawali bonanza to DTC employee

Delhi Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami has stated that that the Transport Department has accepted the most of the long pending demands of DTC employees. The Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit instructed the Department to look into the demands sympathetically and take a pro-employee decision.

Goswami stated that the decisions to meet the demand would result in Deepawali bonanza for the DTC employees. He expressed his gratitude to Smt. Dikshit for giving a definite direction to make the lives and working condition of DTC employees better and comfortable. Goswami has sanctioned Rs.56.65 Crores for disbursement to DTC employees on account of Bonus/Ex-Gratia, DA arrear and arrears on account of increment on the eve of Deepawali Festival.

The amount along with the salary will be disbursed prior to Deepawali festival to the employees of the Corporation. The Minister further announced the distribution of new uniform to the employees, enhancement of washing allowance for employees besides the payment of pending over time to the DTC staff during the period of CWG-2010. The total benefit being announced for the workers of DTC are comes to the tune of Rs.66 crores approx.

Presently the Corporation has only 9 Doctors in DTC. DTC has started the process to appoint additional16 Doctors so as to ensure medical facilities to all DTC employees. With a view to boost Industrial Relations amongst its employees, DTC has also decided to organise Inter-Region Tournament in Kabbaddi, Cricket and Wrestling. The Tournament will be held in January, 2013.

In order to encourage the staff to give their best performance, Chief Minister Trophy has also been introduced. The Trophy will be given to the best Driver and Conductor of each depot based upon their operational performance.
