CPI-ML protests against Odisha Govt., demands CBI inquiry into mining scam

Bhubaneshwar, Nov. 26 (ANI): The Communist Party of India- Marxist-Leninist (CPI-ML) staged a protest against the state government on Monday over the alleged mining scam and demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.

Thousands of party workers and supporters held a rally and shouted slogans against the Biju Janata Dal (BJD)-led state government and UPA Government at the Centre.

While addressing people at the rally, CPI-ML general secretary Deepankar Bhattacharya said: "We are witnessing a new a new issue of corruption everyday. Now the mining scam has come out in Odisha. We demand that there should be a CBI inquiry into the matter."

"When the government itself estimated a fine of Rs 70,000 crore, hen we can easily understand the actual amount of the scam," said Bhattacharya.

Taking on the UPA Government at Centre he said: "The government is neglecting the people's will by allowing the FDI in retail sectors, we want to say that the government will have to face the peoples wrath if the decision will be not roll backed."

Bhattacharya informed the media that his party is against the FDI and the rally is also a preparation to ensure the 'Bharat-Band' called by all trade unions of the country on January 20 and 21, next year. (ANI)
