Lucknow, Nov. 19 (ANI): Union Minister for Steel, Beni Prasad Verma, on Monday announced numerous projects in his home state of Uttar Pradesh, including two power projects and two steel processing units (SPUs) under Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL).
Addressing a meeting of customers and dealers of RINL and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) here, he said: Two coal based power plants in Jagdishpur and Gonda will be established soon which will not only help in meeting power requirement of the state but also provide employment opportunities to youth in the state."
"RINL also plans to establish SPUs in Ambedkar Nagar and Ghaziabad of very soon. Another industry for manufacturing of Railway Coach Components getting explored for establishing for Indian Railways by RINL at Raibarely. RINL is also establishing rural stockyards and is setting up a stockyard in Varanasi," said Verma.
"Under its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programme RINL has set up a Skill Development Centre in Gonda, where needy children are being imparted free of cost training. Similar training centers are being envisaged at other locations in Uttar Pradesh. Along with this RINL is also planning to set up an ITI in Gonda," he added.
Verma appreciated the customers and dealers for their role in making steel available to 'aam admi' and expressed his hope that the India's rural market will be bigger than the markets in some of the developed countries in the next few years. (ANI)
