Ahmedabad, Nov 14 (IANS) England pacer Steven Finn has been ruled out of the first Test against India due to a thigh injury, confirmed the team management here Wednesday.
England captain Alastair Cook said the 23-year-old pacer will not take part in the match at Motera beginning Thursday.
"Steven will not be available for tomorrow's Test. It would be too big a risk," said Cook on Finn, who did not attend Tuesday's training session.
Though it is not yet confirmed who will replace Finn but most likely Tim Bresnan will feature in the first XI.
England's other fast bowler Stuart Broad's fitness is already in question since he is suffering from a bruised heel. The other option for the visitors is seamer Graham Onions.
