Cancer-struck Innocent takes career break (Malayalam Movie Snippets)

Kochi, Nov 3 (IANS) Veteran actor Innocent, who has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphocyte, is taking a break from movies as he treads the path to recovery.

Innocent is being treated for cancer at a private hospital in Ernakulam. His cancer was detected at an early stage.

On the other hand, actor Jagathy, who is hospitalised since the past three months after he got seriously injured in a road accident, is also recovering at Vellore Hospital. Well-wishers of both the actors are praying for their well being and waiting for them to return to the big screen.

Kaniha to star in 'Cadaver'

Actress Kaniha has been roped in to star in new Malayalam film "Cadaver", which will be directed by Jomon.

The film also stars Sreenivasan, Mukesh, Baburaj, Kala Bhavan Mani and Pratahp Pothen in supporting roles. Jyothy Kumar and S. Baiju are producing the movie, while ONV Kurup has penned the lyrics. The music of the film is composed by Gopi Sunder.

Kaniha also has films like "Bavuttiyude Naamathil", "Ladies and Gentle Men" and "EMSum Penkuttiyum".

Divya Darshan roped in for '16th Floor'

Actor Divya Darshan, who is yet to make his Malayalam film debut, has signed his second film. He will play the lead role "16th Floor", his home production.

Directed by Santhosh Sedhu Madhavan, the movie will go on floors in January 2013. It also features Sreenivasan, Darshan's uncle Mukesh, Sonia Mann and Natasha.

Meanwhile, Divya Darshan's debut film "Hide N Seek", will hit the screens this December. His debut movie has also been produced by his parents Rajendran and Sandhya.
