New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): Union Minister of State Lalchand Kataria, who was sulking over work allocation in Defence Ministry to him, was on Wednesday shifted to Rural Development department.
The re-appointment comes following a meeting between Kataria and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday.
In two other changes, MP Milind Deora, MoS in Telecommunication and Information Technology Ministry, got additional the portfolio of Shipping in the same rank and Panabaka Laxmi, who was made MoS in Textile Ministry on Sunday, was reallocated Petroleum and Gas department.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said President Pranab Mukherjee, as advised by the Prime Minister, approved the latest round of portfolios reshuffle.
The government announced a major cabinet reshuffle on Sunday, where 22 ministers, including ministers of states, were sworn in.
The reshuffle, which has been on the cards for six months, may be Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's last chance to significantly change the direction of his government and convince voters the ruling Congress party deserves a third consecutive term in 2014. (ANI)
