Melbourne, Oct 28 (ANI): More men than women are gorging up on the alcohol-laced cupcakes as a new Queensland party fad, it has been revealed.
But IDs are a must for people lining up at bakeries to order the adult cakes.
"Bucks parties are our biggest market. Men love the Bundy rum cakes with the gooey fudge. The orders are usually around 100 at a time," the Courier Mail quoted Annie Stonehouse, owner of The Cupcake Parlour at West End, as saying.
"We introduced the alcohol content quite a while ago but it's just been the last few months that it has really kicked in. At 4.25 dollars each you have a choice of 10 alcoholic flavours.
"Women tend to go for the cosmopolitans or cointreau flavour but Queensland men just can't resist their rum," she said.
The cupcakes with a punch are sold in many bakeries throughout Queensland and according to Stonehouse, the alcohol content of one of the cupcakes would not put a driver over the limit.
"It's just a nip that is added but it all depends what it is washed down with," Stonehouse said. (ANI)
