Narwana (Haryana), Oct 8 (IANS) A policeman was Monday arrested for his involvement in the gang rape of a 16-year-old Dalit girl in Haryana, police said.
Manoj Kumar was arrested for his involvement in the case, police said. Four other accused, including Manoj's wife - Meenu, and three other youths, Pradeep, Sanjeev and Naveen, were arrested earlier.
The girl, who set herself on fire after pouring kerosene following the rape in Jind district Saturday, died at the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS).
The victim, who was raped by Pradeep and Naveen, while Sanjeev and Meenu remained part of the conspiracy. Senior police officers met the victim's family Monday.
